Basic Female Body Shapes, Part II: Inverted Triangle

INVERTED TRIANGLE

Hello hallo beautiful woman,

Welcome back to doitwithyourstyle. Last time I introduced you to the Hourglass body shape. Now it's time for an athletic figure.

The Inverted Triangle body shape can be described like this: The shoulders are broader than the hips and there is little definition between the waist and the hips.

Let us see here some celebrities with an Inverted Triangle figure:

Demi Moore

Naomi Campbell

Charlene Wittstock

Times have changed... In the Renaissance period, for example, curvy and chubby women were considered the most attractive ones. Today it seems that the slimmer they are and the less curves they have on their bottom half, the sexiest they look. This could mean that today the most desired body shapes are the Inverted Triangle and the Rectangular, both narrow in the lower half, so if you are an Inverted Triangle, be proud of!

The secret to enhance your type is to draw the eye down and minimize your larger upper body, aiming for harmonic body proportions.

Check out these outfits that are perfectly suited for the Inverted Triangle body shape:

Tailored suit with slim lapels

V-neck top

A-Line skirt with pattern

Low waisted Bootcut pants
V-neck dress with flared skirt

V-top that falls over the hips

The perfect combination!

You can pick any of them!

Summer time? No problem. With these swimsuits and bikinis you will look just perfect for the "competition out there". :0)

Now attention, ladies and... girls. Das ist ein absolute nicht go for the Inverted Triangle athletic shape:

Shoulder pads: NO!

Horizontal stripes: NO!

Coats with much volume on the top: NO!

Strapless tight tops: NO!

Skinny jeans: ONLY with chunky boots!

Summarizing:

YEAH pieces: V-neck tops / Full skirts / Flare pants and bootcut jeans / Tunics that fall over the hips

NO pieces: Jackets and blouses with shoulder pads / Strapless tops / Horizontal stripes / High-waisted pants

Next time I'm going to introduce you to the Rectangular body shape. Until then, don't forget: No matter what you do, do it with style. YOUR style. Stay tuned.

Basic Female Body Shapes, Part I: Hourglass

HOURGLASS

Hello hallo beautiful woman,

Here we are on doitwithyourstyle. I am going to introduce you to the 5 basic female body shapes and the Hourglass is the first one.

In Brazil we also call this shape "violao" (guitar) and it is a synonym for the perfect female body: same proportions of shoulders and hips with a thin/well-defined waist. It's all about feminine curves.

Let us see here some celebrities with an Hourglass shape:

Marilyn Monroe: sex-symbol

Halle Berry: I wish I had HER body!

Salma Hayek: wow!

Oprah Winfrey: Full Hourglass

If you have an Hourglass shape, you should be very proud of your curves. Don't hide them: show them!

With these outfits you'll surely get all eyes on you...

Billion dollar baby dress: dare to wear it

So stylish!

No curves, no such dresses, sorry...

Simply elegant

Definitely pencil skirts

Low-waisted Bootcut jeans

Skinny jeans

Pants with slightly flared legs

Beautiful dresses for the full Hourglass figure

The Hourglass figure is probably the dream figure every woman. Well, at least mine... Sometimes while on the treadmill at the gym I quickly close my eyes and imagine myself in bikini walking on the beach or watching myself in lingerie in front of the mirror WITH a body like this:

I'm working out like crazy for a body like this!!!

The perfect bikinis for your head-turning body

And now, ladies and ...girls, the lucky ones with the nature-blessed Hourglass body shape, much attention now. Das ist ein absolute nicht go for your beautiful figure:

Square jacket: NO!

Loose shirt with pockets: NO!

Military pants: NO!

Dress with no waist-definition: NO!

Summarizing:

YEAH pieces - Tailored shirts, suits and dresses that define the waist / Wrap-over tops and dresses / Pencil skirts / Bootcut jeans

NO pieces - Everything that disguises your wonderful features: Masculine or boxy pants / Full pleated skirts

So, my dear, raise your chin, walk up straight and be proud of your curves! ;0)

Next time I'm introducing you to the Inverted Triangle body shape. Until then, don't forget: No matter what you do, do it with style. YOUR style. Stay tuned.

Color Series, Part XII: Style in Purple

Hello wonderful woman,

Here we are again on doitwithyourstyle. Last time was GREEN time. Now it's time for a rich and royal color: PURPLE.

Although PURPLE is not one of my favorite colors, I like all its tones from the palest lilac to the darkest violet.

Me in lilac for a wedding with silver accessories and jewelry

Everybody knows wine is not PURPLE but it is definitely made of grapes, so have a look at those ones. Yes, I know, there are also green grapes, but are these violet grapes not alluring?

Khvanchkara red wine

PURPLE decoration is very royal and feminine.

Check out these accessories in PURPLE. Don't they look fabulous?

Purple sapphire ring: definitely on my wishlist.

Coach purple "croc" purse

Steve Madden pumps

It is no coincidence that these princesses loved/love wearing PURPLE and looked really royal and very feminine.

Lady Diana: We miss you

Princess Letizia from Spain

Here are my suggestions in PURPLE for you.
