A bit about Greek goddesses. Part III: Athena/Minerva

Hello wonderful woman,

Nice to have you here again on doitwithyourstyle. Last time I introduced you to one of the most powerful goddesses on Olympus, Hera. Now it’s time to get to know Zeus*’s favorite daughter, Athena, his “daddy’s girl”.

*Zeus was the supreme ruler of the Olympus.

Athena in Greek Mythology and Minerva in Roman Mythology, the goddess of wisdom and strategies

It’s all about you, independent and working woman, more ruled by logic than by feelings. You can apply Athena’s power by wearing tailored suits and shirts, straight pants, more neutral colors (black too, of course), practical makeup, medium to large-sized handbags, and elegant shoes. A colored silk scarf can always add some charm and femininity to your outfit, and golden or silver jewelry can make you shine!  Pearls are always very elegant too. As Athena was sometimes depicted with an owl, why not wearing some jewelry with this wise bird to show your divinity?

With these items you can apply Athena’s power to your style:

Silk scarves with graphics
Black tailored suit
Do you dare? Then red suit!

Belted dresses in sleek fabrics
Scarpins
Black and white flat shoes
Kelly bag
Elegant watch
Chain with owl
Pearl necklace

Bob hairstyle
Tied up hair
Basic makeup but don't forget the mascara!

Next time I’ll introduce you to the nature goddess Artemis. Stay tuned and don’t forget: No matter what you do, do it with style. YOUR style.

A bit about Greek goddesses. Part II: Hera/Juno

Hello wonderful woman,

Have you read my post about the woman psyche? If not, please go check it before we go on here because there is some good information on Greek goddesses that you shouldn’t miss.

Last time I introduced you to Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty. Now I’m going to introduce you to the one of the most powerful goddesses on Olympus, Hera, Zeus*’s wife.

*Zeus was the supreme ruler of the Olympus

Hera in Greek Mythology and Juno in Roman Mythology, the goddess of marriage, wife, commitment maker

It’s all about you, usually married with children who prefer to stay home and have activities in family or simply you who don’t have much time for make-up or hairdos and prefer outfits that make you feel comfortable. You can apply Hera’s power in your style by wearing more classical and practical clothes, oversized handbags, basic makeup and low-profile accessories. But you don’t need to look boring. Add color to a piece of your outfit or 1-2 inches to your shoes and voilĂ : you’re a real powerful woman!

With these items you can embody the power of Hera:

Color scarf

Long shirts
Leggings
Belted cardigan
Flat shoes (Ballerinas)
Elegant dresses
Leather Hobo bag
Shoes with 1-2 inches
Hoop earrings
Long necklace
Swept ponytail
Basic make up

Next time I’ll introduce you to my favorite goddess, Athena. Stay tuned and don’t forget: No matter what you do, do it with style. YOUR style.

A bit about Greek goddesses. Part I: Aphrodite/Venus

Hello  wonderful woman,

Here we are again on doitwithyourstyle. As I wrote in my first post, aware or not, we all have developed our style over the years but if you want to look even better or just have a brand new look, you must start from the right beginning: from deep inside of you. I’ll tell you what I see right now: a goddess awakening!

Yeah, it’s time now for a look inside the woman psyche, so let me take you on a short trip to ancient Greece…

In Greek Mythology we are introduced to some important goddesses and their particular traits which made them divine and at the same time so human, so WOMEN. In her book “Goddesses in every woman” from the Jungian analyst Jean Shinoda Bolen (http://www.jeanbolen.com/home.html) we learn from their archetypes and can relate to one or more of them during our lifetime und why? Because we are simply divine!

I particularly like to divide these feminine archetypes in 5 and I’m sure you will identify yourself with one or more of them. Let’s start with:

Aphrodite in Greek Mythology and Venus in Roman Mythology, the goddess of love and beauty

It’s all about you, sensual woman, a great lover and seducer. Oh, you don’t feel like Aphrodite? No problem. You can develop her traits if you want. Applying Aphrodite’s power in your style, you may opt for sexy and very feminine sleek clothes, small purses, extravagant accessories, glamorous hairstyle and makeup, and of course not forgetting high heels!

The combination of the following items will definitely bring the goddess of love and sensuality to your life!

Animal printed scarves
V-neck tops

Bootcut pants
Pencil skirt
Draped dress
High heeled boots
High heeled sandals
Cocktail rings
Necklaces that hang on the cleavage
Clutch bags
Smokey eyes and well-shaped brows

Long layered straight hair

Long wavy hair

Long nails

Next time I’ll introduce you to another goddess: Hera. Stay tuned and always remember: No matter what you do, do it with style. YOUR style.

Style Coaching for women

Style Coaching for women

Welcome! I’m delighted to have you here on doitwithyourstyle which is dedicated to us, wonderful women, who want to look even more fabulous!

No matter our height, color skin, hair, weight or nationality: we are absolutely wonderful. Time just makes us more beautiful, interesting, wiser and simply fascinating.

We are all unique so aware or not we all have developed our own style throughout the years. What was your style when you were a teenage? In your early 20’s? 30’s? After getting married, having children, changing jobs/careers, getting divorced and/or after that important event in your life?

Ok, ok, let us stop with nostalgia and come back to reality. You know people judge us according to our looks and so do you, I bet. Our outfits, our hairstyle and make-up, our colors and accessories preferences tell a lot about our personality and even individual philosophy. Now I’d like you to ask yourself these 3 questions:

1) Do I look now the way I want?

2) If not, what is preventing me from looking the way I want?

3) And the most important question: Do I want to look better and/or have a brand new look and style?

Why are these questions so important? Because every change must come from inside out and the most important time of your life is now. Yes, we can only live in NOW. There’s no other way. Motivation is the ignition and also the fuel so if you want to “have the looks”, motivate yourself right now! I am here to cheer you up because if you’ve come to doitwithyourstyle this means that style is something that matters to you.

Next time I’ll share with you a bit about the woman psyche and the best ally to your brand new YOU… Until there, remember: No matter what you do, do it with style. YOUR style. Stay tuned.
