Basic Female Body Shapes, Part II: Inverted Triangle

INVERTED TRIANGLE

Hello hallo beautiful woman,

Welcome back to doitwithyourstyle. Last time I introduced you to the Hourglass body shape. Now it's time for an athletic figure.

The Inverted Triangle body shape can be described like this: The shoulders are broader than the hips and there is little definition between the waist and the hips.

Let us see here some celebrities with an Inverted Triangle figure:

Demi Moore

Naomi Campbell

Charlene Wittstock

Times have changed... In the Renaissance period, for example, curvy and chubby women were considered the most attractive ones. Today it seems that the slimmer they are and the less curves they have on their bottom half, the sexiest they look. This could mean that today the most desired body shapes are the Inverted Triangle and the Rectangular, both narrow in the lower half, so if you are an Inverted Triangle, be proud of!

The secret to enhance your type is to draw the eye down and minimize your larger upper body, aiming for harmonic body proportions.

Check out these outfits that are perfectly suited for the Inverted Triangle body shape:

Tailored suit with slim lapels

V-neck top

A-Line skirt with pattern

Low waisted Bootcut pants
V-neck dress with flared skirt

V-top that falls over the hips

The perfect combination!

You can pick any of them!

Summer time? No problem. With these swimsuits and bikinis you will look just perfect for the "competition out there". :0)

Now attention, ladies and... girls. Das ist ein absolute nicht go for the Inverted Triangle athletic shape:

Shoulder pads: NO!

Horizontal stripes: NO!

Coats with much volume on the top: NO!

Strapless tight tops: NO!

Skinny jeans: ONLY with chunky boots!

Summarizing:

YEAH pieces: V-neck tops / Full skirts / Flare pants and bootcut jeans / Tunics that fall over the hips

NO pieces: Jackets and blouses with shoulder pads / Strapless tops / Horizontal stripes / High-waisted pants

Next time I'm going to introduce you to the Rectangular body shape. Until then, don't forget: No matter what you do, do it with style. YOUR style. Stay tuned.
